REGISTRATION DEADLINE: September 7
France, Queen Mary 2, Harmony of the Seas... so many legendary liners built in Saint-Nazaire. A visit to the shipyards plunges you into the heart of an exceptional industrial adventure. As a privileged visitor, you'll discover the workshops and assembly holds: a fascinating spectacle in the world of gigantism!
Description :
An exceptional industrial adventure
Chantiers de l'Atlantique is one of the world's largest, oldest and most innovative shipyards. Everything here is gigantic: the construction slipway and the pre-masting area are over 900 meters long; the very large gantry crane, the "TGP" as the people of Nazairi call it, can lift up to 1,400 tons, or blocks as big as buildings... and you may even have the chance to see it in action.
At the heart of liner construction
Discover the cradle of shipbuilding: ocean liners! For a century and a half, these ships have been Saint-Nazaire's finest ambassadors, and bear witness to an extraordinary know-how. The Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, whose reputation has spread far and wide, open their doors to you for a privileged visit.
We'll take you by coach from the submarine base for a guided tour of a lively, constantly evolving company. Through the "streets" of the shipyard, you'll discover the workshops and assembly holds, while one of Europe's most powerful gantries rises overhead. A visit to the shipyard: the industry itself becomes a captivating spectacle!
