Visit to the Grand Central Saint-Lazare construction site

HEI Alumni and Stéphane Tremblé (1990) invite you to visit the Grand Central Saint-Lazare building site on Tuesday September 25 at 6pm.

The SNCF has launched a property competition for its assets located at 17 rue d'Amsterdam - 43-51 rue de Londres in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, directly overlooking platform 27 of the Saint-Lazare station. The project selected was the demolition/reconstruction of the Amsterdam building with a metal structure to improve the existing height under slab and limit the impact on the infrastructure (most of which remains the property of the SNCF); the latter proposal was chosen. The building will house the future headquarters of Pernod Ricard.

The project is therefore based on :

  • Extensive renovation of a post-Hausmann building (Bâtiment Londres)
  • The demolition of an R+8 building (Amsterdam Building) built in 4 stages between 1947 and 1974, and the reconstruction of an R+7 building composed of a mixed concrete/metal frame structure comprising 3 main cores on 3 basement levels.

The context of the station and the Impressionist period are the two main themes of the architectural project.

If you'd like to take part in this tour, don't forget your safety shoes.

This exceptional visit will be followed by a cocktail near the construction site.
