[CONFERENCE] Leadership: an art?
in partnership with lESEG NETWORK
Leadership: an art?
What really defines leadership? How do you acquire the assets to become a good leader? Isn't leadership more embodied than dictated?
If these questions pique your curiosity, then we invite you to attend this conference, which deciphers the vast subject of Leadership in a unique and original way: through art!
Drawing on art and history, the aim is to reflect on the legitimacy of a form of leadership that rejects the simple exercise of power in favor of the construction of authority.
Theoretical references will be borrowed from the work of Fred GREENSTEIN, long-time Chair of Leadership at Princeton University. A side step to Great Britain will allow us to address the question of female leadership.
The hypothesis of natural or innate leadership will also be examined.
Instead, we'll focus on the construction of a vision based on vigilance and confrontation with the challenges of the unstable and the new. The ability to gather around oneself both relevance and differences will be evoked.
Deciphering the mobility of reality, discerning what makes sense in it, embodying this vision in a decision for action around which to mobilize talents and energies that will make it bounce back beyond itself...
These are the themes that will guide the choice of works to nourish and illustrate the talk.
The conference will be moderated byChristian MONJOU, agrégé de l'Université, former research professor at Oxford and Fondation Besse laureate. He is a senior lecturer in khâgne at the Lycée Henri IV in Paris, and a lecturer at the École Normale Supérieure on rue d'Ulm.
Fascinated by the understanding of signs, images and symbols,M. Christian MONJOU has developed a highly personal view of art history, both past and contemporary, which he shares through hisrences with students, associations and companies, or in groups on study trips around the world.Christian MONJOU also works with numerous decision-makers, sharing his insights and analyses on issues of power, leadership, crisis, innovation and meaning, drawn from the most significant and symbolic artistic productions in human history.
