HEI ALUMNI DAY 2017

Uberization, jobs: the professions of tomorrow

HEI ALUMNI DAY 2017
Annual gathering of ALL HEI students and graduates (this day is open to all)

on the theme of Ubérisation*
with Denis Jacquet

  • Chairman / Founding member of Parrainer la Croissance
  • Co-founder of Observatoire de l'Ubérisation
  • Founder of EduFactory

WHAT IF UBERISATION* WAS THE TREE HIDING THE FOREST OF A DEEPER REVOLUTION? IS IT AN ENEMY THAT WISHES YOU WELL? THE SHATTERING OF OUR SOCIAL MODELS? OF OUR GROUPS? OF THE STATE? IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A SHARING ECONOMY?

Denis Jacquet, a committed entrepreneur and the morning's keynote speaker, will give us his definition of the term.

"Defending business is a full-time passion. Carrying the torch of entrepreneurship at arm's length should be in the public interest, in the same way as national solidarity is expressed through social security, education or support for those who lose their jobs. Not only is enterprise one of the last areas of freedom, "the only form of slavery still chosen", it is also the expression of the liberation of the individual, of his or her responsible will to take control of his or her own destiny, and the culmination of centuries of struggle for freedom."

* Uberization, named after the Uber company, is a recent economic phenomenon involving the use of services that put professionals and customers in direct, almost instantaneous contact, thanks to the use of new technologies. The pooling of administrative management and heavy infrastructures reduces the cost of this type of service, as well as the burden of formalities for users. The technological means enabling "Uberization" are the widespread use of broadband, mobile Internet, smartphones and geolocation. Uberization is also part of the collaborative economy. This concept is in fact opposed to the one known for generations, and particularly since the "trente glorieuses", i.e. the fixed and regulated world of salaried employment.
