It's commonplace to say that the production of goods, services, wealth and wellbeing depends on the company.

To say that "digital" has transformed society is another banality. But are we giving enough thought to what's happening at the intersection of business and digital technology, in the computerization of the enterprise?

What are the effects of this computerization on products, production costs, employment, skills, competition and regulation?

Every company's computerization is embodied in its information system. Experience shows that this information system is very often faulty.

As a result, the company, and with it the economy as a whole, cannot take full advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technology, nor master the dangers it entails.

Experience also shows that economic and political leaders lack the necessary bearings to act sensibly in the current historical situation.

How can we orientate ourselves so that our economy, now computerized, can become efficient?
