DELAYED - Airbus visit to Saint-Nazaire

DUE TO THE CURRENT VIRAL EPISODE, THE APRIL 24 VISIT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. A NEW DATE WILL BE PROPOSED AT A LATER DATE.

Jean-Luc Braibant (1972) and HEI Alumni invite you to

a visit to Airbus in Saint-Nazaire

Friday, April 24 at 4:15 p.m.

In the immense assembly workshops, you'll witness the birth of every Airbus aircraft: A320, A330, A350... Just a few steps away from the cockpits and fuselages, you'll be amazed by the precision of the workers' gestures. After this visit, you'll never fly again!

Description :

Conquering the sky

The aeronautical industry has been present in Saint-Nazaire since 1923: yesterday seaplanes and propeller planes, today the Airbus fleet. A whole chapter in the incredible adventure of aircraft is revealed here in one of Europe's biggest aeronautical centers. We'll take you by coach from the submarine base for a two-hour guided tour of the Airbus site. A special pathway takes you right up close to the men and women who build the planes.

See planes like nowhere else

The vast workshops at Saint-Nazaire assemble, equip and test the nose fuselages and center fuselages of the entire Airbus aircraft range. The whole family is present here at Saint-Nazaire: from the A320 - still one of the world's best-selling aircraft - to the very wide-bodied A330 and A350. The sections you can see are very impressive.

At the heart of the workshops

Final assembly of the aircraft takes place in Toulouse or Hamburg, depending on the model. Here, you have a unique opportunity to see the aircraft before they are fitted out: rivets aligned on a section, windows installed, vital systems installed in a cockpit...

You may see the huge Beluga XL cargo plane, the "flying whale". It regularly picks up aircraft parts for transport to Toulouse or Hamburg.

Practical information:

The tour departs by bus from the Base Sous-Marine, boulevard de la Légion d'Honneur, 44600 Saint-Nazaire. You must arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour, so we'll be expecting you at 4.15pm sharp. Please find attached a map showing how to get to the site.
