a tour of the Vallorbe hydroelectric power plant

Dive into the heart of hydroelectricity with a visit to this historic power plant in Vallorbe!
Commissioned in 1903, the La Dernier hydropower plant has contributed to the development of the region by meeting growing electricity needs while regulating Lac de Joux. Every year, it produces some 29,000 MWh, equivalent to the annual consumption of 8,300 households.
Our guides will take you on a tour of the plant's history, explain how the machines work and give you an overview of the energy issues facing our country. The program is suitable for all ages, and includes a stroll through the heart of the power station and its surroundings.
Open to HEI, ISA and ISEN graduates and their accompanying persons.
