Visit to the administrative building site

Working in partnership with architects Valode & Pistre and Coldefy, Bouygues Bâtiment Nord-Est teams are building one of the largest service-sector projects in the Lille metropolitan area, the Nouvelle Cité Administrative de Lille.

Located in the Porte des Postes area, the 38,400 m² of the future Cité will be spread over 5 buildings, and will bring together some twenty government departments on a single site.

The project is articulated as a city, at the service of government employees:

• A city within the city: set in the heart of the existing urban fabric, the project offers visual continuity between the city and its outskirts.
• A natural city: with 10,000 m² of gardens, terraces and hanging gardens, the 5 buildings will be a haven for biodiversity.
• A village city: designed on a human scale, the new Cité resembles a village, with an internal street, houses and an institutional building located on the Porte de Postes roundabout.
• A pleasant city to live in: the project aims for optimum quality of use for the public and future occupants, combining quality of welcome and well-being at work with bright, comfortable spaces.
• A frugal, temperate city: the future city is based on low-tech design and bioclimatic architecture, combining sustainable materials, sobriety and environmental quality.

Energy performance, quality of use and biodiversity will be guaranteed by the PassivHaus (passive building), Osmoz and Effinature labels. The project also achieves E3C1 (Positive Energy and Carbon Reduction Building) status and meets the first stage of the Bâtiment Biosourcé label, with the integration of over 700 tonnes of wood.
