Program:
- Visit to Train World
Created in 2015, Train World symbolizes Belgium's railway history. It's a totally immersive place, featuring priceless exhibits that bear witness to the evolution of rail transport, the SNCB's historical collections, and sumptuous royal carriages. You'll also discover how trains have shaped, and continue to shape, popular culture.
- Visit the Maison Autrique
Built in 1893 as Eugène Autrique's family home, this bourgeois Brussels house is one of architect Victor Horta's many jewels. Since its construction, it has had a captivating history. Under the impetus of François Schuiten/Benoît Peeters, the house was completely restored in the 1990s, allowing you to admire Victor Horta's savoir-faire in one of the first buildings he designed in Brussels.
Timetable:
7:00 am: Departure from Villeneuve d'Ascq Meeting point: Métro Les Près Egard Pisani
9:30am: Arrival in Brussels - Train World
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Guided tour of Train World
12:15pm: Lunch
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (no later than 2:30 pm): Guided tour of Maison Autrique
17h00 : Return to Villeneuve d'Ascq
Rates (including guided tours + lunch + bus transport):
contributors: €45
non-subscribers and accompanying persons: €65
A non-transport option is also available, especially for people living in and around Brussels. Rate WITHOUT TRANSPORT contributors: 30€/non-contributors and accompanying persons: 50€.
JUNIA ALUMNI covers part of the registration fee, actual cost per person: 89€.
